We’re back with a new year and a new Employee Spotlight! Let us introduce you to our newest content writer on the team, Hannah!

The Work Stuff 💼

Tell us a little bit about your role here at DMT.

I’m a content writer, which means I write copy for our clients’ social media ads, as well as blogs, social media management, and other services.

Tell us about your background. What led you to this career/industry?

I’ve always loved writing! I took journalism at university and then went onto writing freelance for fashion/lifestyle magazines. I then wanted a bit of a change and worked in a couple of social media/campaign roles until I got the job here at DMT!

What is something unique that you think you bring to the role of content writer?

I like to think I’m a creative person, and from working for a mix of different brands/publications I think I’m quite good at mixing up my writing style!

What’s something you want your colleagues to know about you?

I have a completely useless talent which involves balancing pints on my head.

What three words would your friends use to describe you?

Clumsy, thoughtful and kind.

What’s your cultural favourite moment of this past year and why?

I love visiting new places but because of Covid, I was lucky to have just one trip away! I went to Palermo and loved exploring the city and the culture because I’d never been to Italy before.

What’s your hobby or passion project outside of work?

I’m a massive bookworm! I always set myself a yearly reading challenge which I try and hit.

What’s your guilty pleasure?

I wouldn’t say it’s a proper guilty pleasure, because I’m not ashamed of it, but I love ABBA. I think astrology too, I love reading peoples birth charts.

What causes are you supportive of, and why?

The Black Lives Matter movement is really inspiring. Even though it exists because of awful and horrendous circumstances, I think it’s such a crucial and important movement to educate yourself on.

Give us your best Northern Quarter bar recommendation.

Soup Kitchen and Common are probably my favourite go-to bars in the Northern Quarter!

If you were a social media platform, which one would you be and why?

I would be Twitter 100%. I love all the chaotic memes.

Who would be your five dream dinner party guests, dead or alive?

Hard question! I’ll probably change my mind about 20 times but off the top of my head I’d go with; David Bowie, Louis Theroux, Harry Styles (no judgement please), Prince and Dolly Parton.

What are you watching?

Very late on the bandwagon but I’ve just started watching Chewing Gum and I’m so completely obsessed with Michaela Coel.

What are you reading?

Just Kids by Patti Smith (again).

What are you listening to?

I’ve had Punisher by Phoebe Bridgers and A Hero’s Death by Fontaines D.C. on repeat for the past 6 months now.

Who are you ignoring?

No one, but I definitely regret ignoring my hairdresser for a follow-up appointment before lockdown.

Who are you following?

Anything nice food and clothes related!
