Employee Spotlight: James

Gosh, it's been a while, hasn't it? How's everything going? How's the family? 

Anyway... We're back again with a brand-new face to introduce you to! Say hello to James, our new Business Development Executive.

We sat down and chatted away with the Christmas-loving Desperate Housewives fan, who shared his taste for putting a certain crispy snack on top of classic meals (it's seriously intriguing).

The Work Stuff 📈

Tell us about your background. What led you to DMT?

When I first chose a career in sales, it was because I wanted loads of money for holidays/festivals, but now I’m a little older and have other goals, so I started working in recruitment for Digital Marketing which ignited my interest in all things marketing. I then knew I enjoyed the sourcing side of the role more than sifting through CVs, so I landed on my feet with DMT :) 

What is something unique that you think you bring to the role?

I'm extremely persistent and personable, and I love to chat bubbles. 

What’s something you want your colleagues to know about you?

I love Christmas, and I LOVE a hat! And also never ask me to play a sport x 

The Personal Stuff 👨‍💻

What three words would your friends use to describe you?

Funny, caring, and outgoing! I asked them, and after sifting through all the inappropriate ones, this is what we landed on. 

What’s your favourite cultural moment from the past year and why?

Any TikToks from Bailey J Mills, particularly RoXXXanne.

Also, the US government coming out about UFOs! I love anything like that. 

What’s your hobby or passion project outside of work?

Erm, I don’t really do activities, but getting through all the Desperate Housewives series is something I am currently very passionate about.

What’s your guilty pleasure?

Crisps on top of anything. Why not. 

Lasagne, crush some crisps on it (bacon flav).

Pot noodle, crush some crisps in it (salt flav).

Curry, crush some crisps on it (any flav).

What causes are you supportive of, and why?

LGBTQ+ big time! I happen to fall into that category, so gotta give it some love.

The Fun Stuff 🥂

Give us your best Manchester bar recommendation.

OOOOH, Sip on Burton Road in West Didsbury! It’s fab if you love wine. They give you this card when you walk in that you top up with money, and then you just help yourself to the wine! They have these dispensers inside that you can top yourself up whenever you want, always red wine for me.

Either that or Sante (as well on Burton Road), they do 2 pints for 8 quid and 2 DOUBLE spirit and mixers for 10 quid! Stunning prices x

BeReal because I’m a flop.

Desperate Housewives, Eastenders, South Park, and I’m about to start re-watching Ugly Betty as well.

What are you reading?

My fav book ever is called ‘Less’ so I just finished the sequel to that, and I have just moved on to ‘How to Kill Your Family’.

What are you listening to?

Taylor Swift, Beyonce (Renaissance), I am late to the party, but I’m getting into Lana Del Rey. I love some Carly Rae Jepsen as well x 

Who are you ignoring?

My leccy bills and people who won’t go out for a wine with me.

Who are you following?

mY hEaRt, also I’m following the TikTok drama between Elphaba, CLA, Evil Queen etc. All the TikTok dramz.
